Key Challenges of Conventional NNBI Design
§ Extraction and acceleration 
- Cs and gas loading severely limit voltage holding capacity 
- Grid power loading due to co-extracted electrons limits pulse length 
- Gas loading of accelerator leads to high stripping losses of H- beam 
- Backstreaming H+ ions overheat the ion source, complicate T control
