Synthetic inputs are necessary to perform a proof-of-principle test of the methodology
• Two fully synthetic inputs are needed to test the calibration
• A source distribution, something that is modulated by sources of error
• Qualitative similarity to measured signal makes for a better test
• Some set of channel response factors
• Random determination with outliers works well – multiple tests ensure no bias from initial conditions
• Combined with experimental noise and NPA energy ranges, this makes a synthetic ensemble
