Imagine a world without pollution, extraction and scarcity – a world powered by good, clean energy. A world in which reliable fusion power complements wind and solar, providing unlimited on-demand electricity. That’s what TAE has been working toward since 1998. We’re unlocking the power of the sun and stars right here on Earth with hydrogen-boron – the safest, most sustainable form of fusion. In the fusion-powered future, you can flip on a light and cool off your home without a second thought about your carbon footprint. TAE’s emissions-free, radioactive-free fusion power is not just clean energy; it is a pathway to a bright and energetic world.

When TAE began, our founding team imagined a future with carbon-free, on-demand electricity from the cleanest and safest approach to fusion power. Today, we’re building our 6th fusion research reactor to demonstrate the viability of net energy with our unique approach to fusion.
In the words of George Bernard Shaw, “Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will.”
To help inspire your imagination for the future of fusion power, check out our new printable art series “Power Possibilities,” which illustrates the potential of what we can do with hydrogen-boron fusion energy.

Congratulations to the TAE team and all of our collaborators on our new publication in Nuclear Fusion!
TAE’s fifth-generation fusion machine, Norman, has further improved plasma performance across the key elements of a fusion reaction, including extended steady-state operations (up to 40 milliseconds; limited by neutral-beam pulse length), enhanced plasma energy output (Etot ~13 kJ), and enhanced electron temperature (Te ~1 keV).
This progress was achieved in strong collaboration with some of our frequent research partners – including UC Irvine, UCLA, UC San Diego, Google, PPPL, Nihon University and University of Saskatchewan — and it puts us exactly where we want to be as we pursue demonstrating the viability of net energy generation from our approach!

Today we’re celebrating what would have been the 99th birthday of our late technology co-founder, Dr. Norman Rostoker
A renowned fusion innovator, mentor and friend, Rostoker was instrumental in shaping TAE as we know it today.
From our compact linear device, to our advanced beam-driven field-reversed configuration, to our ultimate goal of delivering commercial fusion power with the cleanest and safest fuel, Rostoker’s legacy lives on in our work.

Our original hydrogen-boron fusion R&D has already sparked two spin-off innovations that support our mission for a cleaner, healthier future:
Biologically targeted radiation therapy for the most difficult-to-treat cancers, via TAE Life Sciences
Smarter, more efficient power management systems for our electrified future with TAE Power Solutions
“We don’t see these as side projects,” TAE Power Solutions’ Chief Strategy Officer Lu-Fong Chua told The Guardian. “We see these as byproducts that have very high intrinsic value on their own for problems and challenges beyond energy generation.”

The Biological Theory That Explains Why Investors Are Bullish on Fusion
For a field that has existed for more than 60 years, a lot has happened in fusion research in the last half-decade. In fusion’s case, a trio of technological advances converged in the early 2010s to unleash a wave of innovation. “I think you see this beautiful inflection point in this field where the science maturity and technical capability come together,” said Michl Binderbauer, CEO of TAE Technologies.
The Frontrunners in the Trillion-Dollar Race for Limitless Fusion Power
With energy prices on the rise, along with demands for energy independence and an urgent need for carbon-free power, plans to walk away from nuclear energy are now being revised in Japan, South Korea, and even Germany. TAE’s approach, which involves creating a fusion reaction at incredibly high heat, has a key advantage.
Nuclear Fusion Powers the Sun and Stars. Here’s How We Can Generate It On Earth
The Sun’s surface is 15 million degrees Celsius, which is relatively balmy compared to the 75 million degrees Celsius that TAE Technologies recently generated in July. This temperature benchmark in the company’s current machine, named Norman, demonstrated “unmatched real-time control of plasma.”
TAE on Track for Billion-Degree Hydrogen-Boron Fusion by Early 2030s
Some fusion projects aim to create hundred-million degree working temperatures in magnetically confined plasma. The CEO of TAE Technologies tells us his team’s aiming for 10 times that temperature, targeting cheaper, easier and safer boron fuel.
This Google-Backed Fusion Reactor Must Run 8 Times Hotter Than the World’s Largest Tokamak
The world has been watching the many nuclear fusion tokamak experiments with keen interest, but the stage is also set for those who are trying something a bit different, like stellarators and other reactor formats. That’s where TAE Technologies comes in.
TAE Technologies Commercializes Breakthrough Power Management Technology Developed for Fusion to Revolutionize Electric Vehicles, Charging Infrastructures, and Energy Storage
TAE Technologies, the world’s largest private fusion energy company, announces the formation of its TAE Power Management division, that will bring disruptive power management capabilities originally developed for the company’s fusion power control systems to the mobility and energy storage sectors. Veteran industrialist David Roberts has been named Chief Executive Officer of the rapidly growing division. He will report to TAE Group CEO Michl Binderbauer.
TAE Technologies Expands Executive Team with William Coaker as Chief Investment Officer
TAE Technologies is pleased to announce the appointment of William Coaker as the company’s first Chief Investment Officer. Bill comes to TAE with over two decades of experience in investment, most recently as Chief Investment Officer for the San Francisco Employees Retirement System (SFERS), a $34 billion public pension plan. Bill’s leadership and vision will play a central role in TAE’s next phase of growth.
Fusion Energy Milestone from TAE Technologies Validates Path to Cost-Competitive Carbon-Free Baseload Energy Company Raises Additional $280M for Reactor-Scale Demonstration Facility
TAE Technologies, the world’s largest private fusion energy company, has announced a landmark fusion technology milestone by producing stable plasma at 50M+ degrees Celsius in a proprietary compact reactor design that can scale to competitive fusion-generated power.
TAE Life Sciences secures $30M in initial B round to accelerate development of unique boron delivery drugs for novel cancer treatment, boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT).
TAE Life Sciences (TLS), a biological-targeting radiation therapy company developing next-generation boron neutron capture therapy solutions (BNCT), announced the launch of an innovative in-house boron delivery drug development program supported by an influx of $30M in funding. The initial phase of the B-round funds comes from a consortium of investors including ARTIS Ventures, who led the company’s initial funding in 2018.
