TAE Technologies, Inc. Named 2018 Global Cleantech 100 Innovator

Fusion energy leader receives recognition as one of the most innovative and promising ideas in cleantech.

The world’s largest and most advanced private fusion energy company, TAE Technologies, Inc., (formerly known as Tri Alpha Energy) has been chosen as a 2018 Global Cleantech 100 clean technology innovator. TAE Technologies is answering the global call for abundant clean energy by innovating fusion energy technology that is safe, environmentally-friendly and produces no harmful byproducts.

The Global Cleantech 100 is an annual list of private companies with the highest potential to make significant market impact within a five to ten-year timeframe. It represents the most innovative and promising ideas impacting the future, and features companies best positioned to solve tomorrow’s clean technology challenges.

“We are honored to be recognized as a leader in the movement toward clean energy,” said Michl Binderbauer, President and Chief Technology Officer of TAE Technologies. Binderbauer participated in the Global Cleantech 100 CEO Roundtable yesterday, where he shared his experience of achieving “first plasma” on “Norman,” the world’s largest compact toroid experimental device, a $200M+ field-reverse configured plasma generator, and overseeing groundbreaking research in partnership with Google to apply machine learning to plasma physics.

“I’m thrilled for TAE Technologies to be recognized at this year’s Cleantech Forum for our recent breakthroughs in fusion,” said Binderbauer. “The need for safe, sustainable, limitless energy is as great now as it’s ever been – both to mitigate climate concerns, and because access to clean energy resources raises the global standard of living and can improve quality of life for us all.”

The Global Cleantech 100 is produced by Cleantech Group (CTG), whose research and events services keep its audiences and clients in touch with emerging trends, leading innovation companies and all key players in sustainable innovation. The 2018 Cleantech Global 100 list announcement was made at the 16th annual Global Cleantech Forum in San Francisco on January 22, 2018.
