Today we’re celebrating what would have been the 99th birthday of our late technology co-founder, Dr. Norman Rostoker

A renowned fusion innovator, mentor and friend, Rostoker was instrumental in shaping TAE as we know it today.

From our compact linear device, to our advanced beam-driven field-reversed configuration, to our ultimate goal of delivering commercial fusion power with the cleanest and safest fuel, Rostoker’s legacy lives on in our work.

Our original hydrogen-boron fusion R&D has already sparked two spin-off innovations that support our mission for a cleaner, healthier future:

“We don’t see these as side projects,” TAE Power Solutions’ Chief Strategy Officer Lu-Fong Chua told The Guardian. “We see these as byproducts that have very high intrinsic value on their own for problems and challenges beyond energy generation.”

When brilliant minds come together, high energy results aren’t far behind.

For the 6th year in a row, TAE Technologies has won an INFUSE award from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for innovative fusion research conducted in partnership with a DOE National Lab.

This year’s grant goes to TAE’s Director of Computational Sciences Sean Dettrick, who will partner with the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) to validate TAE’s FRC approach to plasma formation and its impact on improving power plant operations.

This research will not only accelerate TAE’s goal of bringing hydrogen-boron fusion to the grid, but it will also help equip the fusion industry with essential insights for future commercialization. Congratulations to Sean and the teams at TAE and PPPL!

We are proud to announce that TAE has been chosen as the first private fusion energy company to partner with ITER Organization, the world’s largest fusion experiment. Together, we will work to advance the development of fusion power and a well-trained workforce.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting ITER Director General Pietro Barabaschi at TAE’s California HQ to tour our original fusion prototype and current fifth-generation National Laboratory-scale machine, Norman.
